Ned has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience including loan originations, asset management, special servicing, client development and as an attorney. Most recently, Ned was the Business Development Manager for Sabal Financial Group’s Commercial Advisory Group where he was responsible for growing a CMBS and third party advisory services platform. Before joining Sabal, Ned was Vice President - Special Servicing Manager at Midland Loan Services where he was a Special Servicing Team Lead with oversight responsibilities for a team of Special Servicing Asset Managers in Overland Park, KS and Dallas, TX while managing a portfolio of CMBS/Special Credit assets. Mr. Smith was a voting member on both Midland’s Asset Review and Advance Committees. Additionally Ned was responsible for client development, client relations, portfolio oversight and portfolio based initiatives.

From 1999 to 2007, Ned held numerous positions at Principal Commercial Acceptance, a CRE lender that provided value-add bridge loans, mezzanine financing, land loans and preferred equity. Ned’s roles included Vice President of Asset Management, Portfolio Manager, Underwriting and Production. Ned has a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Kansas and a Juris Doctorate degree from St. Mary’s University. He is a licensed attorney who practiced in the fields of Commercial Litigation, Contract Law, Business Litigation, Property Taxation and Regulatory Law.
