Living in the Dallas - Ft. Worth Area

As the largest metro area in the Lone Star State, the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex is home to over 6.5 million North Texas residents. D-FW is a thriving and growing city and home to some of the nation’s largest companies such as AT&T, ExxonMobil, American Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. The list continues with the soon to be constructed headquarters of Toyota’s North American operations. All these factor into D-FW being America’s 3rd fastest growing city (Forbes) with a 4.1% annual job growth rate.

In addition to being one of the fastest growing areas in the country, both Dallas and Ft. Worth were ranked in the top 15 coolest places to live according to Forbes. The area is attractive for both recent graduats and those with families as D-FW boasts the 11th best job market for young college grads (CityLab), and is in the top 10 best places for families to locate (Forbes). Combine all this with no state or local income tax, and D-FW is a great place to call home.

D-FW is also home to 5 major sports teams which includes the 5-time Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys, the 2011 NBA champion Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Rangers, the 1999 Stanley Cup champion Dallas Stars, and the FC Dallas. The Cowboys compete in one of the premiere arenas in the nation affectionately known as “Jerry-World”. This state-of-the-art stadium routinely hosts a myriad of events including college sporting events, concerts, award shows, and much more. Scattered throughout the Metroplex you can also find an abundance of cultural interests including art, history, and science museums, symphony halls and opera houses, parks, zoos, craft breweries, and recreational lakes. In less than a few hours’ drive you can be out of the city and into the great outdoors to experience all that Texas has to offer.
