Steve Byron leads A10 Capital’s credit and asset management team for the northeast United States.

Steve has more than 20 years of commercial mortgage experience, with a specialty in underwriting balance-sheet and CMBS financing transactions. Before joining A10, Steve was with GE Capital Real Estate and was responsible for managing underwriting teams for West Coast CMBS originations as well as balance-sheet underwriting for large, complex deals on a nationwide basis. During his tenure at GE, Steve personally underwrote approximately $2 billion in closed senior and mezzanine balance-sheet debt and as team leader, underwrote nearly $3 billion in closed CMBS debt.

Prior to GE, Steve was an asset manager at Archon Group (a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs) where he managed a portfolio of underperforming and performing mezzanine/preferred equity loans. Steve was also a CMBS underwriter at Archon Financial and co-developed and refined the underwriting model utilized in Archon’s CMBS program.
Steve holds a bachelor of science degree in finance from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. He is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
